From Citizen Participation Area Basauri City Council in collaboration with two schools in the borough has developed in the 2009-2010 academic year two pilot projects around sustainable child mobility . Basauri is a town of just over 42,000 inhabitants located in the metropolitan area of \u200b\u200bBilbao.
The first pilot has had starring children. Them children s children's college education of the Providence and their families have participated in an experience of walking bus or walking bus, which picks up the preschoolers, who share the route between home and school go together under the care of an adult volunteer. several routes have been designed to meet the needs of different families.
The second experience has developed is in the public school Lope de Vega, who has joined this project sustainable and safe mobility. Over two weeks, a group of volunteers will be located at four strategic points near the center of the city from those who watch over the safety of schoolchildren.
